Quid Pro Quo Service
You must choose one of these projects (or come up with an idea of your own) and decide what concrete project you would like to work on with me (or any current society members). I don't want people who are only interested in hanging out.
If working together on a business or having room mates is not for you and you just want money or references or other simple things then I can help. Contact me and discuss ways we can work together!
Suggested Quid pro Quo Activities:
1. Protection from crime: All members are required to protect each other as the minimal quid pro quo commitment.
2. Pooling money together to buy real estate- This is one thing I'm most interested in. We can discuss this further in person.
3. Working together to start a small home based business: this mainly means labor- people who want to start or maintain a business painting business or cleaning carpets. We need about three or four people to split the work.
4. Working together to purchase a major business such as a gas station by forming a corporation with limited liability (probably a more far off goal for when we have resources)
5. Room mates: this serves a double purpose. It saves money on rent and other expenses (even food if you have the right people). But it also offers protection because your dwelling is occupied by people who have your back. Also helps with friendship.
6. Pooling resources to buy food and other items in bulk in order to save money.
7. Helping members get elected to political office. This benefits members because now we have contacts with influence or power who can help us.
8. Helping each other with education (especially with skills that are valuable to the Society- mechanics, business management degrees, law degrees, police officer training, marketing, politics and so on).
9. Creating weekly martial arts, yoga, or other related classes for group members. Our training will be far more realistic and useful than most martial arts studios and will also be a lot cheaper.
10. Dating or family creation.
11. Martial Arts/Fitness Training: We can set up our own classes and training sessions.
12. Sharing Skills or information: if you have a successful business installing cabinets then perhaps you can show me (or others) how to install cabinets. In turn I will help you with things you need help with.
13. Pay Member Dues: if you are too lazy or disinterested in any of the above activities, the very least you can do is set up some sort of monthly payment schedule for Society membership. This would be something like $100 a month to fund group activities. If you contribute in some other way then there are no member dues.
If you want to simply give money to the group or help members start a business (in other words you just want to help others) we can do something like that. I am open to any suggestions, but I just don't have the time or energy to sponsor new members into the Society if those members aren't contributing any kind of concrete advantage.
You will sign a non-disclosure agreement and focus on a quid pro quo group activity. You will also do camaraderie exercises and repeat the mantra "Teams win, individuals lose" and that will be the main activity of your weekly meetings during the initiation process.
Explanation
The reason for a quid pro quo focus is not because I desperately need room mates or desperately need a business partner (although it would help). This is part of your character evaluation. I just don't need loser friends. I don't need friends and family who kick me when I'm down, refuse to help me, and just make my life worse. I meet plenty of those people already.
So it is not only the direct benefit of working together, more importantly it relates to what kind of person you are!!
It's similar with people who want to chat on the phone or talk. If you have a totally different personality from me then there isn't much for us to talk about. I need people who have similar interests, otherwise there isn't much point in us chatting or "hanging out" If you are a person who doesn't have your friend's back then we have nothing in common and nothing to talk about.
Philanthropy
Once we help ourselves, we can then move on to helping others. I am open to taking up various social causes that members may propose.
